NP. I run 105 Shimano short reach levers on my roadie. Well, I broke one so I'm doing the combo now. I like the short reach better than standard, much easier reach from the drops. I guess the only worry would be whether your sausage fingers would get claustrophobia under the levers because of tight clearance. You can click back and forth on Cane Creek's site and kinda visualize the difference.
