I would guess that you use your bikes a lot less for a year or two as well. Kids put a crimp in hobbies you used to have, but are the best hobby you will ever have.
My daughter is 4, and I just sold my motorcycle this year - after watching it sit unused in the garage for the last 3.5 years.
