I think this is the best-looking option. Although I'm not aware of any good-looking quill stem that will get your bars as high as the Soma riser/adapter (that thing is REALLY tall), some -- e.g., Nitto Technomic, Periscopa, Dirt Drop -- might get them high enough. I ran a Periscopa for a while and loved the look. But you have to get the stem length right, and it's a PITA to swap out one set of bars for another (unless the stem has a removable faceplate, and most quill stems don't). If you're tempted to go with a tall threaded stem, I'd probably recommend using an adjustable one first, in order to figure out exactly where you want the bars. Then, if you want, you can get a nice-looking stem that will put them there. Personally, though, I think the adapter/threadless stem combination is more practical, especially if you like to change things up from time to time. Some of the threadless stems -- VO for example -- are pretty nice looking, IMHO.
