Aren't trademarks a national level issue like patents? If so couldn't multiple companies around the world all be called Dahon and have a reasonable claim on Dahon.com?
Even in the same country, two companies can use the same trademark if it applies to different fields. See for example
http://nissan.com , it is not what you would expect.
