I've been looking at bikes/frames, and I saw
these and thought they looked really nice for the price. (and I like that they're made in Indiana) However... While it is relatively flat here, I do like the idea of having more than one speed, so I've also been looking at the S3X hub. The problem is, there aren't any bosses or brazeons on the Spicer frame. Is there a way to run the cable without them?
I've been pondering over this... Looking at the Problem Solvers' website I found
these and
these, which I think could be combined with an SA thumbshifter to make it work. I'm thinking the backstop could go at the top of the downtube, and the pulley could go at the bottom of the downtube. I'm not sure how ugly that might be, though.
