Disagree with all of the above. My indoor trainer has been the best bike accessory I have bought (Garmin is 2nd) and it has definitely helped me not only stay sharp in the off season, but actually improve year-round. If you're just in cycling for recreation, then ok, the bike trainer will suck because it offers you nothing, but if you're in it a large part for improving and increasing fitness, bike trainer + bike computer = awesome.
