I thought about wearing them under the skull cap but that kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it? I mean, doing it this way, the arms raise the cap and air can get in. What's your experience?

EDIT: Thanks, AEO. I thought they were never supposed to go under the helmet straps.
My experience is that the cap still insulates even with the arms under the skull cap. Not sure about the whole over and under methodology, I would likely get confused mid ride and do it wrong! Under everything is simple enough for me to do every time, and I use the friction to keep them against my head and in place.
