Another vote for a good trainer.

Regardless of your feelings on cold weather riding, normal work schedules in the northeast are not conducive to riding outside; whether morning or night, it is dark.

I have been riding an indoor trainer (CycleOps Fluid 2) for about a month. Granted, I find it too boring to do for more than 45 minutes, but I actually look forward to it and you do get a good workout in 30 to 45 minutes. I don't feel like I have lost too much fitness during my weekend outdoor rides. Last year at this time I was dying on weekends.

It is well worth the money.
