That's said lightly no doubt, but honestly I can look back to the 90s when I had a young family and was laid off 4 times in 5 years but was never out of work for more than 3 weeks at a time. It occurred to me that really, someone *was* watching out for me because the connections I made that resulted in jobs seemed way too fortunate to be random chance.
