The chain should be absolutely fine - it's the number of sprockets on the back that determine whether you need a narrow chain or not (i.e. more sprockets, smaller spacing, narrower chain). Beautiful! Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know.
One more thing - the threading is standardized now, yes? I remember there being about 8 different threadings for bottom brackets on older bikes. (I will double check it of course)
