My initial instinct was to take the Hetchins for a simple reason - I already have a Team Merckx (though Motorola) and it was owned by a better rider than the one in the auction. Then I looked at the Hetchins and I just don't like it. The gold color is not attractive to me, I don't have much interest in Campy 50th (it's a moving Campy poster) but I'd never allow myself to have it resprayed. I'm back to the Merckx. It's in better shape than mine and has the original gruppo.
There are several bikes I'd rather have than either of these...don't get me wrong, if they were inexpensive I'd buy them (and probably flip them within a year or two). I was much more tempted by the Lemond Merlin (and I'd wager that's a better rider than either of these bikes).
