After a bit of browsing it looks like mine is a 1983. The headbadge changed on the 1984. I cannot detect any other difference between the two model years.

You're right. Interesting read. But I thought it was all chrome below the red?!?! Also, they're right about the braze-on cable guides. I never like them because I see so many bikes with rust around the guides, but not this one!
