Bikes: A fat tire & a skinny tire & two others I loaned out

Went for another ride today...an unexpectedly short one. I was planning on doing a 12 mile loop, but about 2 miles in my front brakes went completely limp...lost another brake pad. So it was a 4 mile ride. Second time this has happened in about 7 rides. I'm thinking I may have made a mistake going used on brakes. Oh well, Christmas is just around the corner. Anyway, I tried out the chest mount today, but I forgot to adjust it to make it taught against my chest, so all the footage is super shakey. Does anyone else with a chest mount have a solution to the shakiness in general? I adjusted the straps when I got back to the house & did some test shots, but it still came out pretty shakey (tolerable, but not as good as I've seen). I remember seeing Never's GoPro videos & never noticed that problem...is he using anti-shake video editing software, or is there a solution I'm not thinking of?
