I have a McLean, too. I think it's a 1982. I had it repainted in 1991, so it's blank now. It's not very light, unfortunately, but I love it.

The weight is probably typical for a fine bike of the day, maybe 21 pounds? about five pounds more than a high end modern bike, although I suppose a big percentage of that is the components. As I am probably 50 pounds overweight, it's an insignificant to amount to me. On the other hand the Peter Mooney, even stripped down, is a damned boat anchor.
