Piaggio

Nice scooter-I mean bike. Bianchi was affiliated with Piaggio scooters for a time I believe.
I read somewhere that it is Japanese made (maybe ishiwata?) which explains why Bianchi did not allow the stamps on the fork crown or stays.
If I recall correctly, the tubing and workmanship is quite good besting the Italians at the time, but lacking the prestige of "made in Italy" models. Just an opinion that i read somewhere.
I picked up the same bike frame a couple years ago and fitted some modern 105 components. It was my first forray into bicycles since I was a kid and I still ride it at work. I can post a photo later if you wish.
Nice bike. THanks for posting.
