Say you have four corners in a crit, and every lap you come out of the corner at 22mph, and have to accelerate to 28mph in the next 100m.
Since the numbers you ran would run me into the ground I almost don't want to ask, but
"That comes out to 3.1% of your energy spent accelerating a 20 lb bike instead of a 14 lb bike." just to come out of corners seems like a huge difference. I (again, a non-racer) wouldn't want to start a race with a 3% handicap so the question: when you have used the heavier bike, do you do this accelerating with the pack or do you use a different tactic? Such as hitting the corner faster or hanging back?
