It's easier to build in black these days because that's the trend. More parts are available. Silver can be a pain in the butt depending on what parts you're after. What I would do is sit down and build up the bike on paper, then go try to find the parts and see what it ends up costing you. Chances are you had to make compromises with the silver.

Also, that photo of the silver build you provided is a very high key shot. It's misleading, and good photography. Probably not the greatest example for setting expectations.
