Jaytron, I think the gold/silver components make it looks kind of... classy like an older, restored bike, whereas the gold/black component looks more... utilitarian and "cool" looking. I'd go with black personally, as you can see by my taste. Also, I gotta agree with homebrewk; I don't care for deep silver/polished rims either. On the other hand, silver components will show wear less than black components because the only color under the silver is silver. When you scuff/scrape a black component, you now have a big silver scrape on your expensive black component. Bums my **** out.
