Do you think a http://www.bianchiusa.com/bikes/fixe...-via-condotti/ would work as a full-time bike? Commuting, occasionally pulling a kid's trailer (I know - gasp) and riding with the wife and kids. I'm 180 at 6' but will be carrying a Vandal full o' text books. Combined weight is probably 200-215 lbs.
