Hi all, 2 years ago my wife who had riden solo for a few years was asked to ride with a friend who is blind, just yesterday they completed there 2nd round Taupo ride, which is 160km up and down some big hills here in NZ. They are riding a Cannondale which I have been servicing up till now and has been great but to say the wheels on this bike are heavy would be a massive understatment.

So the question is, since the frame has disc mounts has anyone here used disc hubs laced to 700c rims? Im thinking if I can ditch the v brakes in favour of some good cable disc's the use of lighter rims with less than the millon spokes these have might be possible to reduce the revolving weight.

Has anyone done this conversion? And any recomended hubs/rims would be a great place to start.
