We started with a set of Rolf Prima tandem disc wheels, which are advertised at 1895g for the set. Probably OK for a 260 team, but not OK for a 470 team like us. We broke the rear (ripped two spoke nipples through the rim, cracked the rim at the sister spoke pair as well) in ~6 months, perhaps attributed to a hard RR crossing.
We've "replaced" with a set of Spinergy TX2 tandem disc wheels from our friends at House of Tandems. Advertised at 1535g, available with a variety of spoke colors if you care, and priced less than Rolfs. Unfortunately schedules and weather have conspired to prevent us a "first ride" on them, but a loop around the mile at HoT left me saying "crisp but smooth", so I'm definitely anxious to try them. They are only available through HoT, so they may seem hard to find.
