I actually had planned to continue on to another destination to buy something else - the delivery was "enroute". The real "idiot" part for me was that he had offered to drive down himself but I said I'd deliver it as I was going to have to pass his location to get the other CL item - maximizing the gas savings for him at no real cost to me. Unfortunately, the non-sale resulted in a pointless round-trip as the unpurchased item - a recumbent - took up too much room to buy/transport the second item - another recumbent - in the vehicle I used.

Oh, we each phoned the other at least once about this "transaction" prior to today. So, it wasn't a "blind email business transaction". Guy sounded sincere/authentic on the phone.

I do like the "meth call" to the cops idea - wish I was that creative.
