Right. More people die in shower falls, so? Most people take plenty of showers, while taking very few or even no bike rides. And who are these people who die in shower falls anyways? My guess is they are mostly old and feeble folks with poor balance. Does it seem logical that these same people would be at less risk of injury/death if they jumped on a bike?

I agree that cycling can be plenty safe. Making silly claims like showering is more dangerous than cycling based on overall statistics is not about to win over any skeptics like the OP’s wife.

Sorry, but that is the reality of it. People aren't getting hit all the time, helmets aren't saving millions, and cameras aren't necessary.
