It is without a doubt the first year for the Trek composite, which was 1986. It is the 2500 model. Wikipedia has a great link about this.

Didn't mean to post up a thread as a for sale....but it definately is for sale, and I'd be more then willing to part it out.
If anyone can PM me to point me in the right direction, or perhaps show me a good eBay link of how I should sell the stuff, let me know.
