I have a friend that had the pre-2010's and raved about them (he's probably in the 150 lb range). He used them as his everyday/racing wheels and didn't have any problems.

He sold them after getting out of racing but regrets it.

I have the 2011 ones and have around 3k miles on them but they have had a redesign as said above so no direct experience.

You mentioned they are new... Would you be getting yhem from a Trek dealer? If so, inquire about the warranty, if something happens they would likely replace with the new design as they probably don't have the molds etc for the old ones at the factory.
