Order of priority at store:
1. Whatever you're doing now.
2. Customer tapping foot at counter.
3. Ringing phone.
In my mind it ought to be the other way around, i.e. get the phone no matter what, even if you have to ask them to wait; then the counter; then whatever you're doing now (like putting out stock or gabbing with a customer or using one of the registers to look up information on a generator).
When I said that we should make the policy 3-2-1 I was given flak.
