I'm guessing your temps are a lot lower than mine in Baltimore. I'd go for a good merino wool wicking glove liner inside. Then go to a hunting store and buy the thickest pair of mittens they've got. Throw a few chem. hand warmers in your bag for when the temps really drop and you're (probably) good to go.
