Under the limited space they have, that's a very attractive house (though my first thoughts were that it's very cuboidy). Nice interior too.

But in America, dont you guys have planning laws where you have to consult with the neighbours as to how tall you can make an adjoiing structure? If I were one the residents, I'd be annoyed at having a building that tall erects nearby.
