That VeloSolex made bicycles is a revelation to me, although it's pretty obvious from the name, meaning, as it does, Solex Bicycles.

I know their machines with an engine that you drop onto the front tyre very well from when I spent a month in Normandy as a language exchange student back in 1969 and rode one from Bernay to Evereux and back. Like this:

Much later I had a Citroen 2CV with a Solex carburetor.
