Since you are going to blast it anyway, you could easily fill it in with brazing or bondo. I wouldn't worry too much about the strength, at 20 thousandths, it is just cosmetic.
Plumbing solder would also work, can be applied with less expensive equipment (hand-held air/propane torch), and will not fall out like Bondo.
