How do you tell the difference between 70's Colnago models?
G'day all,
I've recently acquired a round (not Gilco tubed) Colnago frame with all the expected identifying features i.e clubed lugs, club cutout under the BB shell, pantos on the seat stays, Colnago stamped on the chain stays, Colnago chromed drop-outs. two top tube brake line lugs, single biddon lugs, clubs and Colnago panto on the top of the fork crown but apart from knowing it's a Colnago I don't know which model it is.
The bike, when I bought it, was fitted out with Shimano RX100 which I'm guessing is an add on, done in the mid eighties. The only give away that might suggest it's age is that it had a Nuovo Record seat post. By the way, the cables run under the BB.
I've had a trawl through here looking for some obvious answers but here I am. I can post some pictures if need be but I'm wondering if one of you might just be able to point out what it is that sets one model apart from the others.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Chris
