Using 'trim' to finely adjust the front derailleur is normal operating procedure. As you shift the rear gears, the chain moves inboard & outboard (left & right), changing the angle, and moving it closer to or further from the front derailleur cage (depending on your shifts). To compensate, you sometimes need to make the trim adjustments to prevent rubbing. 1/2 the posts here are way off track.
Merlin and a couple others have it right.

The only way reinstalling the rear wheel could affect it is if there was a washer on the axle that got moved to the other side of the dropout, but even that would probably not cause rubbing.
