I wanted the road carving, stuck to the road feel that the Terraplane stays are supposed to supply (and from reports, delivers), and anyways I already have 3 road bikes with straight stays, two with wrap over stays, one with nicely scalloped stays. Dave's straight stays combine the two, and maybe one day I'll order a Kirk (or maybe an Anderson stainless) sport touring bike with the straight stays. I know the Terraplane isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I like the look and if it works as designed, should make for an incredible ride.
I didn't want to say anything before, but the Terraplane stays are the only way I would order a Kirk.
Great looking, and the power transfer is fantastic.
I talked to Dave at NAHBS, and he said all the right things about their shape.
imho
