Instead, if you are starting from Lyons Gate head north to Ashforth and then east on Coyle either to Common Brook or Owings Run. Then Lakeside Blvd over to Painters Mill.
or, if you can get up to Meadow Road -- I can't see whether there's a connecting path - take that east all the way to the metro.
Stay off of Lyons Mill at all costs, even for a short distance.
mtalinm, you know your Owings Mills, MD for sure.
Unfortunately, our OP is kinda stuck with only bad options. Lakeside dr. is at least as dangerous if not more so than Lyons Mill and the only way to get to Meadow (a very nice old school Owings mills rd) is over a fence and through high weeds- not a commuting option.
Commuting on this road is certainly stressful and perhaps overly risky, but our OP is a tough dude (as far as I can tell). He's got the right mindset now. He'll be back with 2000 lumens of light and high-vis vests and he'll be freaking out the morning drivers. He has a right to ride down the damn road and he'll be doing it.
