We have that problem in our area too, however the one hour (or more in many cases) headway and the fact they can only carry two bikes makes it all but useless. I have never seen a bus with an empty rack. That means if I go to my parents house I either ride the entire distance or drive the 19.5 miles. Small wonder they keep building more and wider roads.
