Good stuff DEK. Might I suggest, only because all of your miles I assume come from sea level florida, that you try to ride elsewhere a couple times and start incorporating some climbing. I know it is a near impossibility where you are, but if you ever come up northeast or along the Rockies anywhere, it might be even more beneficial than just adding more miles and possibly speed. Like I said though, good work on the 3k+ and over 50lbs of weight loss. Cycling is a fantastic activity. no matter what your utility for it is. (Weight loss, Health, Competition, Commuting, w/e....)
Thanks, X-L. The weight loss was more than I even hoped for. But riding that many miles; mostly in the FL heat and humidity, really took the poundage off - fast.
I would love to do some climbing as I see the beautiful pics others have posted of their rides in the hills/mountains and I'm very envious. Who knows, maybe I'll get the time and money to do a trip somewhere in 2012.
