If we all yield to this takeover of our roadways then we just support the dominance of the car culture. I believe cehoward is changing that.

Thanks, even though I am a newbie with the bicycle, and even more newbie with the commuting, I am seeing that I am lovign it, so I got to try to give myself and other the best chance of surviving out there.

Things are changing in Owing Mills for bikers too. They are making Owings Mills Blvd longer. About a month ago, I am just finishing the hellish half mile up Lyons Mill, and right there at Owings Mill Blvd, i stopped for the light. The contruction workers all gave me the high sign and told me that the extension of Owings Mills Blvd, with have a BIKE LANE...

I just armed myself with some better lights, front and rear. The 6 am shot down Lyons Mills road tomorrow, shouldn't be as hellish. First they will be able to see me from a long ways off. Don't know if this is a good move or not, but as I hear the cars closing in on me, I start waving my hand as in a slow down motion. That seems to help. Also, in the summer is it a little better. In the summer you can see the full grey hair sticking all out the helmet, and I get a little respect for that. i should put a sign on the back of my safety vest like I have on my motorcycle jacket, like this...
