I've done a little research and haven't found the Term "Schwinn Approved" defined and I've got a feeling I will not. There obviously were several optional available at the times and I suspect Schwinn didn't want to get nailed down to only one source in the case of "Schwinn Approved" rims. I doubt I will find a set of "Schwinn Approved" rims or a wheelset for my '78 Paramount. Nor have I read about anyone bragging about having original rims on their Paramount. I do understand why so many rims got damaged or destroyed but I'm a little surprise there were not a larger supply of replacement rims that were "Schwinn Approved."
