You are supposed to use the same spoke grooves in the flanges; that is, I believe, the only important thing. Once the wheel is built you can put it in the dropouts either way; it doesn't matter whether the leading spokes are inside or outside the flanges. It doesn't matter which way the hub label reads; think of it as a license plate, front one reads from front, rear one reads from rear. Or not. Makes no difference.
