What the Ins CO should do is notify the DMV for any cancelled policies. DMV could then notify the registered owner to provide proof of a valid policy (effective the same date of the prior cancelled policy) or the plate gets revoked. There has been a car parked on the street (a dead end so it is less obvious) for several years and the city simply stated that they do not do parking enforcement over expired tags.???

unless the insure co makes more money by paying on UIM claims than on the thousands of potentiol policies not sure why there isn't more support.
