clean up or...
This vintage Bianchi was on a local craigs list.
After researching the bike (frame numbers components)for the seller, I bought the bike.
(Things like record cottered cranks and ofmega headset and balilla centerpulls not to mention the crhrome lugwork)
From the origional photos it looks like a specialissima .
The origional intent was to clean up the frame before retrofitting it for my hill bike (velo orange 46/30 grand cru crankset, maby a 13-30 7 or 8 cassette rear hub-if the rear triangle can be spread..otherwise a 14-28 or 15-30 6speed freewheel)
Upon close inspection at the sellers today it appears the frame got a rattle can respray at some point.
I don't want to get into a total restoration project but the rattle can crap looks bad.
chemical strip and auto shop respray?
(quoted price under $100 for the respray)
Thoughts?
