Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

I got the bike upright and somewhat tilted to allow gravity to hold the nut down, got it into place with a length of electrical solder, and used a kitchen knife (which is the only thing thin enough to access and apply back-pressure to the nut). The nut would not line up, though. I'll need to see if I can find one that has smaller outside dimensions, and will hopefully fit well in the half-pocket.

The nut is a unique size. If you can't wait for mechBgon's care package, But a standard nut, preferably Brass or Stainless, and file one or two sides to fit as needed. It's a few minutes work and you could be riding tomorrow. Later you can sub the correct part back in.
