No matter what you use to get your grips on, hairspray, WD-40, soap, Liquid Wrench...all chemicals leave *some* kind of residue behind. Some residues damage grips over time by eating away at the rubber and most (including hairspray) will get gooey and slippery if they get hot. Clean bars = sticky bars.
