Yeah i agree as well the rear might have a chance of going back on the bike but i'm going to run a 7 speed in the back, Would the rd be able to handle that last cog?

My setup - same RD with retrofriction shifters - will barely make it across the 6 cog setup I have. At 5.5mm c-c across 6 cogs (5 shifts), that's 27.5mm. A 7 speed 5.0mm c-c would have to clear 30mm. You might be trying to push too far, unless you're using a shifter with more cable pull.
