But we are a small % of the marketplace.

I also agree that this type of marketing could hurt the "flipper".

It's their bussiness plan, if it works for them, good for them. I think it will.
If not, then they will have failed.

Most people, who don't know a lot about bikes, don't want to search out parts, give OA baths, and fix stuff.
They want to pump up their tires and go for a ride. They also would like a shinny new looking bike.

Of course YMMV!
