Anyone who's done a lot of plumbing with copper tubing knows that there is no significant metal displaced to the OD of the tube. You can mate a freshly cut tube with an tight fitting elbow or tee, with no filing on the OD. It's the ID that should have the burr removed and that job is not hard. A hacksaw leaves burrs on both the ID and OD.
