Unless your website is wrong + the LBS--the 1981 Lotus is a long cage. i know the rear freewheel is 14-32..and the . Does the 1981 Legend parts bike have the original "Gold" freewheel?..because that might have a wider range than the classique.

cap req'd (T) = (BIG ring - small ring) + (BIG cog - small cog)

shimano short cage has a max. chain wrap/cog of 28T..i think.
