On LOW, it provides enough light to read the computer, but not so much that it interferes with night vision. I'll add another light to the top of the helmet when I want one to see forward with.

BTW, having tried the usual computer-illuminator lights that mount next to the computer, they really don't work well. Don't waste your money.
The fenix AAA light has flat sections so I can hook a Sigma computer mount o ring over both ends an it fits flat on one of the short connecting parts across the vents. I cut a section of innertube out that matches one of the flat sections and used double sided tape to secure the piece of tube to the light. This gives better traction, making it more secure when I twist the head
