Nominal width of B.15 Champion Standard is the same as that of the B.17 Champion Standard, i.e. 6 3/4 inches. It sounds as if the Wright saddle has probably been 'butchered' at some time?
Of course, any used saddle may have been similarly 'interfered with'.
