the poster never said he did these climbs, only they were in his neighborhood. I'm sure he does get out to them, too beautiful not to ride them.

The first charity century ride I did had tons of people out in front of me before the first climb. I passed a lot of them on that first climb. They had signed up for the ride not knowing what they were getting into and paid for it rather quickly. I can easily imagine a lot of Floridians not being used to climbing and hitting that hill unprepared. [I'm slow but steady on climbs; I know that as long as I'm moving, the pain will end at some point.]
